Golf professional Samuel Del Val of Athens, fired another solid round of three-under par 69 to capture his first professional win at the 58th annual Ziplocal (formerly Your Community PhoneBook) Georgia Open which is being conducted at The Club at Savannah Harbor.
Del Val, a former NAIA All-American at Berry College in Rome is a native of Spain, but now makes is home in Athens and is currently playing on various mini-tours. He fired his fourth consecutive round in the sixties and finished the championship at -20 for a four day total of 268.  Del Val was the leader after all four rounds. His round today consisted of one eagle, four birdies and three bogies on the par 72 Bob Cupp and Sam Snead design which opened in 1999. The golf course played to a par 72, and was set at 7,204 yards.
The personable Del Val, a former Spanish Amateur champion, credited his former Berry College teammate and fellow competitor Jarrod Trammell with a putting tip earlier in the week which allowed him to excel during all four rounds played which were contested in hot and humid conditions for all four days. Trammell finished in a tie for 49th place. Sam was recently signed by TPMA a golf management agency Based out of Evans, Ga.
